Cantab Asset Management is delighted to be the headline sponsors for the historic rugby match between the Cambridge University RUFC and the M.R. Steele-Bodger XV. The match takes place at Grange Road, Cambridge on Wednesday 23 November at 3pm.
The match was inaugurated in 1948 by Michael Roland “Micky” Steele-Bodger CBE, a graduate of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge and former rugby Varsity player who went on to play for Harlequins, England and the Barbarians. He is currently the President of the Barbarian Football Club and President of the East India Club, London. Steele-Bodger since 1948 has been responsible for assembling a team from players at sides across the country to play against Cambridge University RUFC as a warm-up to the Varsity Match. The annual contest has proven a real test for the home team in the last few years with Cambridge RUFC losing in 2014 and only narrowly winning last year in a high scoring encounter.
