The 2018 Corporate Finance Faculty Annual Reception took place on Thursday 15 November at Goldsmiths’ Hall.
The Annual Reception is a key event in the faculty calendar and now one of the ICAEW’s most high profile and best attended events.
The reception took place in the magnificent home of the Goldsmith’s Company, which received its Royal Charter in 1327.
The guest speaker for the evening was The Rt. Hon. The Lord Smith of Kelvin, Chair of the British Business Bank and former Chairman of Weir Group, SSE plc, the Green Investment Bank and Museums of Scotland.
The Corporate Development Award was given to Coats Plc maker of threads and yarns founded in 1755. Simon Boddie, Chief Financial Officer, and Judith Wettach, Head of M&A Strategy accepted the award.
The award recognises a London-listed company whose strategy has made the most effective use of M&A to grow, and increase shareholder value.
