Cantab Asset Management were proud to be match sponsors of the prestigious annual Cambridge University vs Steele-Bodger XV fixture, which transpired to be a brilliant spectacle of free-flowing rugby. Historically, the game has operated as the final warm-up match for Cambridge before the Varsity match against Oxford at Twickenham, and on the evidence of the match winning try for the Light Blues in the dying embers of the game, this is a Cambridge side full of resilience and ability.
The terraces of Grange Road were typically packed and raucous, and they were rewarded with a pulsating encounter, with both teams exchanging tries on a regular basis to leave the match finely poised heading in to the final minutes. Cambridge secured a win of 38-33 through an opportunistic try by their scrum-half, much to the delight of the crowd. Such a dramatic finale seemed appropriate for what had been a fiercely contested and evenly matched game throughout.
Cantab Asset management extends a warm congratulations to all who contributed towards a most enjoyable day and wishes CURUFC the best of luck for their Varsity fixture next month.
